Treatment for essential hypertension blood pressure control
This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Telmisartan alone. It is prescribed as an additional treatment to manage the patient's blood pressure more effectively, helping to lower it to normal ranges and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Thus, it is effectively used in the treatment of essential hypertension.
For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Telmisartan alone, take once daily with a beverage regardless of meals. Dosages of Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination products include 40/12.5 mg, 80/12.5 mg, and 80/25 mg. No adjustment is necessary for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus. Patients with allergies to any components of this medication or hypersensitivity to sulfonamide drugs should not take it. Patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function, those with obstructive biliary disease, pregnant women in the second and third trimesters, and breastfeeding women should not use this medication. Caution is required for elderly patients, those with high serum potassium levels or mildly impaired liver function, patients with heart valve diseases, and ischemic heart disease patients when using this medication. This medication lowers blood pressure, so caution is necessary as excessive blood pressure reduction may result in dizziness or fainting. Hydrochlorothiazide can cause electrolyte imbalances, so regular monitoring of serum potassium, sodium, and magnesium levels is necessary. There may be interactions if this medication is taken with other antihypertensive drugs, diuretics, lithium, potassium supplements, etc., so consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. Sunlight or ultraviolet exposure should be avoided during treatment with this medication, and any adverse skin reactions should be reported to a doctor immediately. Patients should be cautious as dizziness or drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, hypotension, electrolyte abnormalities, and dehydration symptoms may arise, requiring immediate medical attention. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children and adolescents under 18 years of age, so it is not recommended. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. The appropriate storage temperature is between 1°C and 30°C. Avoid storing it in places that are too hot or too cold.
