This medication is an extended-release tablet and should be taken whole without crushing, splitting, or chewing. Adults should take 1 tablet (75 mg as eperisone hydrochloride) orally after meals, twice a day. Adjust according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to it or in those with severe myasthenia gravis. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the medication or liver function issues should be cautious when using this medication, as liver function may worsen. If allergic symptoms such as redness, itching, hives, swelling, or difficulty breathing occur while taking this medication, immediately discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. Additionally, if serious skin adverse symptoms such as fever, rash, blisters, eye congestion, or stomatitis occur, the use of this medication should be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be sought. This medication can rarely cause side effects such as liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, anemia, neuropsychiatric symptoms (insomnia, drowsiness, headache, etc.), gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc.), urinary issues (urinary retention, incontinence, etc.), general weakness, and dizziness, so any abnormal symptoms should be reported to a healthcare professional. During treatment, weakness, staggering, or drowsiness may occur, so dosage should be reduced, or medication should be discontinued in case of these symptoms. Drowsiness, reduced attention, and impaired reflex motor abilities may occur while taking this medication; therefore, it is recommended to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. Be cautious when taking this medication in combination with similar drugs such as tolperisone hydrochloride or methocarbamol, as it may cause visual disturbances. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication and should only use it when the therapeutic benefit outweighs the risks. Breastfeeding women are advised to avoid taking this medication if possible; if it must be taken, breastfeeding should be discontinued. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so special caution is needed when using it. Elderly patients may have reduced bodily function, so it is necessary to adjust the dosage when using this medication.
