Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Typically, for adults, one vial is injected once a week for three consecutive weeks into the knee joint or shoulder joint (shoulder joint cavity, subacromial bursa, or biceps tendon sheath), but the frequency of administration may be adjusted based on symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had an allergic reaction to any of its components. Patients with allergies to other drugs, liver function problems, or a history of liver disease should exercise caution when using this medication. Additionally, since this medication is injected into the joint, caution should be taken if there is a skin disease or infection at the injection site. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as shock may occur after use of this medication, so treatment should be stopped immediately and appropriate care sought if any unusual symptoms occur. Symptoms such as swelling of the face or around the eyes, rashes, and itching may occur, and if such symptoms appear, the use of the medication should be stopped and a doctor consulted. Temporary pain, swelling, redness, warmth, and severe pressure sensation may occur at the injection site, so caution is needed. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and fever may also occur rarely; therefore, patients should inform healthcare providers if these symptoms arise. If this medication is injected into a severely inflamed joint, the inflammation may worsen, so it is advisable to use it after the inflammation has subsided. After injection, stabilize the injection site and ensure the medication does not leak outside the joint. This medication must be injected under sterile conditions, and if symptoms do not improve, the treatment should be stopped after three injections. If fluid accumulates in the joint, it should be drained as necessary, and intravenous administration should be strictly avoided, as well as use for ophthalmic purposes. When injecting, a properly sized needle should be used, and care should be taken when using with specific disinfectants as they may cause the medication to precipitate. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully weigh the risks and benefits of using this medication, and administration should be avoided while breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been established, so use should be exercised carefully only when necessary. Elderly patients may have decreased physiological function, so special caution should be taken when using this medication.
