View approved original text

This drug is used to properly control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who are inadequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or losartan. It is also used as initial treatment when combination therapy is needed to achieve the target blood pressure in stage 2 hypertensive patients. Therefore, it is effective in assisting blood pressure management and reducing the risk of complications due to hypertension.

Precautions

This medicine can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Due to its strong blood pressure-lowering effect, patients with low blood volume or those on diuretics may experience symptoms of hypotension upon initial dosing, so caution is needed. This drug should not be taken by patients with allergies to its components, severely impaired liver function, severe aortic stenosis, or those in shock. Patients with elevated potassium levels or severely impaired renal function, and those on strict salt restrictions should exercise caution when using this drug and follow their doctor's instructions. Various side effects such as dizziness, headache, drowsiness, palpitations, dyspepsia, skin rash may occur, and if any abnormal symptoms appear, immediate consultation with medical staff is necessary. Especially for the elderly or patients with renal impairment, the dosage and frequency should be discussed with healthcare providers, and this drug is not recommended for children under 18 years of age. When taken with other blood pressure medications, the blood pressure-lowering effect may be enhanced, so it is essential to inform the doctor about any currently taken medications. Taking it with grapefruit or grapefruit juice can increase the drug's concentration in the blood, raising the risk of side effects, so it is advisable to avoid this combination. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take this medicine, and those breastfeeding should also avoid it as it may pass into breast milk. Overdose can result in severe hypotension and cardiac dysfunction, so it is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage, and in case of suspected overdose, seek immediate emergency treatment. When storing, keep away from children and do not transfer to another container, as this is safer.
