This medication should not be taken by individuals with hypersensitivity to this drug or any components contained in it. Patients with malignant anemia or megaloblastic anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency should also avoid this medication. Furthermore, since this medication contains lactose, individuals with galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption may also not take this medication. Consultation with a doctor, dentist, or pharmacist may be necessary before taking this medication. Patients currently undergoing other treatments or those with malignant anemia should definitely consult a specialist before taking it. Especially, patients with malignant anemia may not improve neurological symptoms solely with this medication and should use vitamin B12 preparations together, and caution is needed as the diagnosis may become more difficult due to improvements in blood condition in uncertain diagnoses. Patients taking amino salicylic acid, oral contraceptives, methotrexate, or trimethoprim may have interaction possibilities, so it is necessary to consult a specialist. Individuals taking phenytoin-class anticonvulsants need to be careful as this medication may lower phenytoin blood levels, increasing seizure frequency. If taking sulfasalazine or cholestyramine, absorption of this medication may be inhibited, so caution should be observed. If allergic symptoms such as skin rash, itching, respiratory distress, loss of appetite, vomiting, swelling, or weight loss occur while taking this medication, it should be stopped immediately and a specialist should be consulted. Additionally, if symptoms of central nervous system abnormalities appear such as gastrointestinal disturbances, changes in sleep, lack of concentration, hyperactivity, irritability, excitation, depression, confusion, or impaired judgment, consultation should be made and the intake should be stopped. The prescribed method and dosage must be strictly adhered to; parental guidance and supervision are required when administering to children. If symptoms do not improve or worsen after about a month of taking this medication, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is essential.
