Precautions

This medication may pose serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be taken by pregnant women or those who may become pregnant. It should not be administered to individuals allergic to the active ingredients or related compounds, patients with severe liver impairment, severe hypotension, significantly compromised cardiac function, or unstable heart failure following acute myocardial infarction. Patients with primary aldosteronism, certain heart valve diseases, liver disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, renal vascular hypertension, those on dialysis, and the elderly require special caution when using this medication. Common side effects include dizziness and peripheral edema, while serious side effects such as syncope have been reported rarely. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately and replaced with a safer treatment. Hypotension may occur, so patients with dehydration or low salt levels should improve their condition before taking the medication and closely monitor their blood pressure. This medication can increase serum potassium levels, so patients with impaired renal function or heart failure should have their potassium levels regularly checked through blood tests. It is important for patients with impaired renal function to periodically monitor their kidney function and serum electrolyte levels while on this medication. Patients with heart disease should be cautious, as there may be an increased risk of angina or myocardial infarction after taking this medication. It is not recommended for breastfeeding women, and they should avoid taking it if they are nursing. This medication can interact with other drugs, so patients should inform their healthcare provider of any other medications they are taking, especially potassium supplements or certain diuretics. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur while on this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating dangerous machinery. In cases of overdose, symptoms may include hypotension, dizziness, and decreased heart function, and immediate medical attention is required. This medication is not recommended for children due to the lack of established safety and efficacy, and elderly patients should start at a lower dose and gradually increase it.
