Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, and prevention of Mendelson's syndrome
This medication is used for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective in preventing postoperative ulcers and treating gastric ulcers caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Additionally, it is administered prior to anesthesia to prevent Mendelson's syndrome. It helps improve symptoms of various gastric diseases and aids recovery.
For adults, typically 2 tablets should be taken orally twice a day, usually before breakfast and at bedtime, regardless of meals. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers: Take 2 tablets twice daily or 4 tablets once daily before bedtime. For duodenal ulcer patients, taking 4 tablets twice daily before breakfast and bedtime improves the treatment rate. For maintenance therapy, take 2 tablets once daily before bedtime. 2) Gastroesophageal reflux disease
This medication should not be used in patients with poor renal function or those undergoing dialysis. Patients with a history of allergy to this medication or its components should avoid administration. Caution should be exercised in patients with a rare disease called acute porphyria, as this medication may exacerbate symptoms. It is also safe to avoid use in patients who have undergone gastric surgery, pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, and premature or newborn infants. Patients on a potassium-restricted diet should avoid taking this medication. Patients with weak liver function or a history of drug allergy should use this medication with caution. Regular monitoring is required for elderly patients, patients with renal function issues, and those taking NSAIDs in combination. This medication may mask symptoms of stomach cancer, hence patients with gastric ulcers or newly developed dyspeptic symptoms over the age of middle age should check for malignancy prior to treatment. Patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori require eradication therapy. Special attention is needed for patients in severe intensive care, those with hypophosphatemia, and patients with swallowing difficulties. During the course of treatment, allergic reactions, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, cardiac arrhythmias, gastrointestinal symptoms, and neurological symptoms may occur rarely, and if any abnormal symptoms arise, medical consultation should occur immediately. It is crucial to avoid long-term use, keep close observation of treatment progress, and use the minimum effective dose. Elderly patients or those with chronic illnesses may have an increased risk of pneumonia while taking this medication. If dizziness or drowsiness occurs, driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if taking other medications, it is essential to inform the healthcare provider. It is safer for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this medication. Safety in children has not been established, so its use is not recommended. In case of overdose, treatments like vomiting or gastric lavage may be necessary, and in some cases, hemodialysis may be required for removal. This medication reduces gastric acid secretion, potentially promoting bacterial proliferation in the stomach, hence ocular examinations may be required for long-term use.
Hives, severe swelling (including angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, anaphylactic shock, severe allergic reactions, severe skin reactions (severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mouth/eyes), vasculitis, liver abnormalities (including jaundice), reversible jaundice hepatitis, severe neurological symptoms (severe headache, confusion, seizures, visual disturbances, paralysis), severe swelling or urinary issues

This medication should be stored in an airtight container and kept at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way will help maintain the medication's effectiveness for a longer period.
