This medication lowers blood pressure in hypertensive patients, reducing the burden on the heart and blood vessels. It is particularly helpful in the prevention and treatment of kidney disease in patients with both hypertension and type 2 diabetes. Therefore, if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately. Taking this medication during pregnancy may lead to decreased fetal kidney function, lung development problems, and skeletal deformities, and there is also a risk of hypotension and renal failure in the newborn. Patients with allergies to this medication, those who are pregnant, have severely impaired liver function, or have certain hereditary diseases should not take it. Elderly patients, those with weakened kidney function, or patients whose blood pressure is excessively low should take this medication with caution and regularly monitor blood pressure and kidney function. While this medication is generally safe, side effects such as dizziness, muscle cramps, back pain, cold symptoms, and rhinitis may occur. In rare instances, serious side effects such as angioedema, liver function abnormalities, muscle pain, hyperkalemia, and hypoglycemia can occur, so caution is needed. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives, certain diuretics, and potassium supplements, so consultation with a doctor is essential.
