Bowel cleansing effect for colon pre-treatment
This medication is used to cleanse the bowel before undergoing a colon X-ray examination or an endoscopy. It helps remove residual contents in the bowel for increased accuracy of the examination and facilitates easy identification of anomalies. It is essential to prepare for a smooth colon examination. This bowel cleansing agent is used in the preparation process for colon examinations.
On the evening before the examination, take 14 tablets of this medication with 425 mL of water, followed by two additional doses of 425 mL of water within the next hour. On the morning of the examination, take an additional 14 tablets of this medication with 425 mL of water, 10 to 12 hours after the evening dose. Follow with two more doses of 425 mL of water within the next hour. Complete the intake of this medication and additional water at least 2 hours before the examination or as directed by the physician.
This medication should not be used in patients who have an allergy to this drug or its components. It should not be administered to patients suspected of having gastrointestinal obstruction or perforation, patients with slow gastrointestinal motility, and patients with bowel obstruction. Patients with severe renal impairment, severe dehydration, patients with ascites, and those with congestive heart failure should not use this medication. Caution is necessary when administering this medication to patients with severe fluid abnormalities or abnormal serum tests, those with a history of seizures or at risk for arrhythmias, and patients taking medications that may affect renal function. Patients with ulcers in the bowel mucosa, ischemic colitis, active ulcerative colitis, patients with impaired vomiting reflex, and those at risk of aspiration should also be closely monitored. This medication may cause diarrhea, so adequate fluid intake is necessary. If severe vomiting or dehydration occurs, electrolyte and renal function tests should be performed. Patients with electrolyte abnormalities should normalize their electrolytes before taking this medication, and those at high risk of electrolyte disturbances should be particularly cautious. This medication can rarely cause seizures or loss of consciousness, especially in patients with a history of seizures or those at higher risk. In gout patients, this medication may temporarily elevate uric acid levels, so caution is advised. For patients at high risk of cardiac arrhythmias, an electrocardiogram should be considered, and those with decreased renal function or taking medications affecting the kidneys should be cautious as well. As this medication can induce ulceration of the bowel mucosa, the risk may increase if used with irritant laxatives. When taking this medication, it should be taken with sufficient water in the prescribed amount, and only light meals or clear liquids should be consumed the day before and on the day of the examination. This medication contains ingredients that help eliminate intestinal bubbles during colonoscopy. When taken with other medications, care should be taken regarding interactions with drugs that may cause electrolyte disturbances. Absorption of oral medications taken within one hour of this medication may be inhibited. For pregnant women, it should only be administered when the diagnostic necessity outweighs the risks, and caution is needed when administering to nursing mothers. The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established. No significant differences are noted in use for elderly patients compared to younger patients. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air and moisture, and it is safe to store it at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage will maintain the efficacy of the medication for a longer duration.
