This medication helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In particular, it reduces the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke in adults with risk factors for coronary heart disease and patients with type 2 diabetes, lowering the risk of vascular intervention and angina as well. Furthermore, in patients with clinical evidence, it effectively reduces the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, congestive heart failure hospitalization, and angina. This drug also treats hyperlipidemia by lowering total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apo-B protein, and triglyceride levels, while increasing HDL cholesterol levels, thus improving lipid status in the blood. Additionally, it is effective in reducing cholesterol and associated lipid levels in certain patients with dyslipidemia that do not respond to diet and in pediatric patients with familial hypercholesterolemia. This medication promotes heart and vascular health and improves risk factors.
