Treatment of corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases (dermatitis, infected wounds, etc.) with secondary infections
This medication is used for the initial treatment of corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases accompanied by secondary infections caused by neomycin-sensitive bacteria. It is effective in treating dermatitis and infected wounds. Therefore, it is used when there are symptoms of infection in the dermatitis or wound area to improve the symptoms.
Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area 1 to 2 times a day.
This medication should not be used on areas with bacterial, fungal, viral, or animal skin infections. In particular, symptoms may worsen in cases of infections such as skin tuberculosis, syphilis, herpes zoster, herpes simplex, chickenpox, scabies, and lice. People who have allergies to this drug or its components, or a history of hypersensitivity, should avoid using it. Patients with eczema of the external auditory canal with a perforated eardrum should be cautious when using this drug, as wound healing may be delayed. This medication should not be used on ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite areas, as skin regeneration may be inhibited and healing delayed. It is also advisable not to use this medication in patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, or rosacea. People with allergies to aminoglycoside antibiotics or bacitracin should not use this medication. This drug should not be used on wounds around the eyes or breast area, especially during breastfeeding, as there is a risk of transferring the drug to the infant. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, and children should use it with caution, especially if they have an allergy to propylene glycol contained in this medication. When using this medication, skin infection or irritation symptoms may develop, so if symptoms worsen or do not improve, usage should be immediately discontinued and a doctor should be consulted. Using it for a prolonged period or over a large area can cause steroid side effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and steroid acne, so dosage and duration should be adjusted. If this medication is used in conjunction with occlusive dressings, systemic absorption may increase, leading to serious side effects such as pituitary-adrenal function suppression, glaucoma, and cataracts; therefore, it must be used according to a doctor's instructions. Sensitization reactions may occur, so if symptoms such as itching, redness, swelling, or vesicles occur, usage should be immediately discontinued. Children are at higher risk of side effects due to their larger skin surface area relative to body weight, so it should be used under the supervision of a guardian, and care should be taken in areas covered by diapers as they can have effects similar to that of occlusive dressings. This drug should not be used for ophthalmic purposes, and if it gets into the eyes, it should be washed out immediately with clean water, and if symptoms are severe, ophthalmic treatment should be sought. It should not be used indiscriminately on the skin after makeup or shaving, and occlusive dressings should not be used without a doctor's instructions. Keep this medication out of reach of children. Lastly, prolonged use of large amounts by psoriasis patients may lead to psoriatic erythroderma or pustular psoriasis, so caution is needed.
Severe allergic reactions (itching, redness, swelling, papules, small blisters), severe skin adverse reactions (severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa), respiratory issues (difficulty in breathing), severe swelling or urinary abnormalities (significantly reduced urine output, widespread severe swelling, hypertension)
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This drug should be stored in an airtight container to avoid exposure to air or moisture. A storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius is appropriate. Do not store it in excessively hot or cold places, and avoid direct sunlight.
