Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolone antibiotics. When using this medication, shock symptoms such as nausea, cold limbs, and respiratory distress may rarely occur; if these symptoms appear, use should be immediately discontinued and appropriate treatment sought. Also, hypersensitivity symptoms such as cardiovascular collapse, angioedema, rash, itching, and difficulty breathing may occur, so if these symptoms arise, administration must be stopped immediately. There may be temporary burning sensation, irritation, or discomfort in the eye, and various ocular adverse reactions such as eye pain, redness, swelling, blurred vision, or foreign body sensation may sometimes occur. In severe cases, serious skin and corneal diseases like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may develop, necessitating immediate discontinuation if these symptoms appear. Long-term use of this medication may result in excessive growth of fungi or resistant bacteria; therefore, it should be used only for the minimum required duration, and if secondary infections occur, alternative treatment methods should be considered. This medication has not been proven effective against methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), so if MRSA infection is suspected or symptoms do not improve, another antibiotic should be used. Especially in older patients or when used in conjunction with steroids, there is an increased risk of tendonitis or rupture of tendons in the shoulders, hands, and Achilles tendons, so if pain or inflammation symptoms occur, use should be discontinued immediately. For pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, the safety of this medication has not been established; it should only be used when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding should be discontinued or the medication stopped during lactation. It is advisable not to use this medication in infants under 1 year of age as its safety and efficacy have not been confirmed. This medication is for ocular use only, and care should be taken to ensure that the tip of the container does not come into direct contact with the eye during instillation. To prevent contamination, avoid shared use, and store in a sealed container in a cool place out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of children; do not transfer the medication to another container.
