Prevention of osteoporosis and vertebral fractures in postmenopausal women
This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It primarily reduces the occurrence of vertebral fractures and helps improve bone density, supporting bone health. However, its efficacy for non-vertebral fractures has not yet been definitively proven. Therefore, it is effective for patients at high risk of vertebral fractures. Overall, it is a treatment that contributes to the prevention of bone weakening and fractures.
Take 1 tablet once daily, regardless of meals.
This medication may increase the risk of thrombosis in the blood, so it is not recommended for women at high risk of thrombosis. Especially after surgery or during prolonged immobility, this medication should be discontinued and resumed only when the patient can move again. This medication is intended for postmenopausal women only and is not recommended for premenopausal women. If uterine bleeding occurs during treatment, it is essential to seek medical attention. The use of this medication in patients with breast cancer or for the prevention of breast cancer is not recommended due to lack of established safety. It should not be used in individuals with an allergy to this medication, a history of thrombosis, pregnant women, those who may become pregnant, or nursing mothers. Additionally, patients with unexplained uterine bleeding or symptoms of endometrial cancer, hypercalcemia, or renal stones should avoid taking this medication. This medication contains lactose; thus, individuals with lactose intolerance should not take it. Patients with high triglycerides or problems with kidney or liver function need to exercise caution when using this medication and should follow their doctor’s instructions. Drowsiness or visual disturbances may occur during treatment, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Additional vitamin D supplementation may be necessary for those at high risk of vitamin D deficiency, and calcium intake should be sufficient. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, and symptomatic treatment should be provided. If hypercalcemia symptoms appear, immediate consultation with medical personnel is required. This medication is not for use in children, and pregnant or nursing women should not take it. Medications should be stored out of the reach of children and kept in their original container for safety.
Urticaria, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, retinal vein thrombosis, severe allergic reactions, chest tightness, urticaria, rash, asthma, shortness of breath, respiratory failure, respiratory issues, cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, bradycardia, pyelonephritis, severe edema, generalized edema, edema accompanied by increased blood pressure, jaundice, liver abnormalities, sudden and very severe headache, seizures, confusion, visual abnormalities, paralysis, retinal hemorrhage, death, spinal stenosis, obstruction

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. The recommended storage temperature is room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
