Chronic persistent hepatitis refers to a condition in which inflammation in the liver persists, causing continuous elevation of SGPT levels. This medication is used to improve liver dysfunction caused by such chronic hepatitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, 1 capsule orally after meals, 3 times a day for adults.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete biliary obstruction. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Caution should be taken when administering this medication to patients with chronic active hepatitis, cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic disease, peptic ulcers, or gallstones. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occasionally appear when taking this medication, and rarely abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, and discomfort in the upper abdomen may occur. Allergic reactions such as itching or rash may rarely appear, and skin rashes may sometimes occur, but symptoms usually resolve with the use of antihistamines. Transient jaundice may appear, and in such cases, stopping the medication or using jaundice treatments can alleviate symptoms. Rarely, general malaise or dizziness may occur, so caution is warranted. This medication must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and frequency, and if symptoms do not improve after a maximum of 8 weeks or if abnormal symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped immediately, and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. It is important to keep this medication in a safe place out of reach of children. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should avoid taking this medication, as animal studies have reported potential harm to the fetus. Additionally, patients taking oral diabetes medications should use this medication with caution, as it may enhance the effects of the diabetes medication.
