Adult dose

As Finasteride, take 5 mg orally once daily, without regard to meals. Even if symptoms improve after taking the medication, a minimum treatment duration of 6 months is necessary.

This medication should not be administered to children or women, and particularly, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should be careful not to touch broken pieces of this medication. While taking this medication, mental health issues such as depression or mood changes may occur; if these symptoms appear, consult a healthcare professional immediately. Patients who have hypersensitivity to this medication or specific genetic lactose intolerance, soybean oil allergy, or allergies to beans or peanuts should not use it. Patients with liver dysfunction or lipid metabolism problems should use this medication with caution and may need to monitor their condition through blood tests. This medication may cause side effects related to sexual function, such as erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, and ejaculatory disorders; if these symptoms persist, they should be reported to medical personnel. The potential for rare side effects, such as male breast cancer, exists with long-term use; therefore, if abnormal symptoms occur, immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication may increase the risk of prostate cancer; thus, men over 55 should have regular check-ups to monitor their condition. Pregnant or nursing women should not take this medication, and women who may become pregnant must take care to avoid exposure to broken pieces of this medication. The safety and effectiveness of this medication have not been established for children, and it should not be used in this population. No specific dosage adjustment is required for elderly patients, but they should consult healthcare personnel regarding other health conditions. This medication can affect blood test results, so inform healthcare personnel about its usage during regular tests. There is no specific treatment for overdose, but if suspected, immediate medical attention should be sought. Store this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to other containers.
