This medication is used for the relief of pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis), pericapsulitis of the shoulder, low back pain, sciatica, and non-articular rheumatism.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

For aceclofenac, take 200 mg once daily. This medication should be taken whole without chewing or breaking. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, the lowest effective dose should be administered for the shortest period.

Precautions

Patients who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol daily should discuss with their physician or pharmacist, as this medication may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may raise the risk of cardiovascular disease; therefore, caution should be taken in patients with risk factors for heart disease or cerebrovascular disease. It should be used for the shortest duration and at the minimum effective dosage, periodically checking therapeutic efficacy and side effects. Patients with a history of ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding, severe heart failure, severely impaired kidney or liver function, pregnant women in late pregnancy, and nursing mothers should not take this medication. Elderly patients, individuals with impaired kidney or liver function, asthma patients, hypertension patients, etc., should exercise more caution and take it according to their doctor’s instructions. This medication can cause various side effects, including gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, liver dysfunction, skin rash, dizziness, etc.; consult a healthcare professional immediately if abnormal symptoms develop. If severe rashes or swelling, or respiratory distress occur, discontinue use immediately and seek emergency treatment. During treatment with this medication, it is necessary to regularly check blood pressure, liver function, kidney function, and consider the possibility of interactions with other medications. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should consult their physician before taking this medication, especially in late pregnancy. Safety for children and adolescents has not been established, so it is advisable not to use it. This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), jaundice (yellowing of the skin), hepatitis, shock, anaphylaxis, severe allergic reactions, serious skin adverse reactions (bulbous dermatitis, mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome)), severe gastrointestinal bleeding and ulcers, severe edema or urination abnormalities, sudden and severe headaches, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular events.

Mild side effects

Dizziness, abnormal liver enzyme levels, itching, rash, abnormalities in the blood and lymphatic system (anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, etc.), hyperkalemia, depression, unusual dreams, insomnia, visual disturbances, optic neuritis, sensory disturbances, tremors, drowsiness, headache, taste disturbances, neck stiffness, fever, disorientation, confusion, hallucinations, tinnitus, malaise, palpitations, facial flushing, hypertension, heart failure, respiratory distress, bronchospasm, wheezing, dyspepsia, abdominal pain.
