Chronic persistent hepatitis refers to a condition where the level of the liver enzyme SGPT is continuously elevated. This medication helps reduce the inflammation of this hepatitis and aids in restoring liver function. Therefore, it is used for improving liver function and alleviating inflammation.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, 1 capsule for adults, taken orally 3 times a day after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete biliary obstruction. This medication contains lactose, and patients with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Patients with chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis, patients with hypokalemia, severe pancreatic disease, peptic ulcer, and gallstones should use this medication with caution. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as occasional diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and rarely, symptoms such as abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, or discomfort in the stomach may arise. Additionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as itching or rashes may occur, and sometimes skin rashes can develop, but these symptoms generally resolve with the use of antihistamines. Transient jaundice may occur, and in this case, discontinuing the medication or using jaundice treatment agents can improve the symptoms. Rarely, systemic lethargy or dizziness may occur, so caution is advised. This medication must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and administration and if the symptoms do not improve after taking it for up to 8 weeks or if abnormal symptoms arise, the medication should be stopped immediately and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. It should be stored in a safe place out of the reach of children. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant are advised not to take this medication, as harmful effects on the fetus have been reported in animal studies. When taken alongside oral diabetes medications, the effectiveness of the diabetes medication may be enhanced; therefore, caution is especially required in such cases.
