Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients undergoing dialysis or those with renal impairment. It should also not be administered to patients who have had an allergic reaction to this drug or its components, those with a history of acute porphyria, patients who have undergone upper gastrointestinal surgery, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, premature infants and newborns, and patients on a potassium-restricted diet. Caution should be exercised in patients with liver impairment, a history of drug allergies, elderly patients, those with a history of renal dysfunction, and patients taking NSAIDs. It may conceal symptoms of gastric cancer, so patients with gastric ulcers or those over middle age who have recently developed or changed dyspeptic symptoms should confirm that it is not a malignant disease before using this medication. Patients with gastritis with a positive Helicobacter pylori infection need treatment to eradicate the bacteria, and caution should be taken in critically ill patients or those with hypophosphatemia and swallowing difficulties. Rarely, during the use of this medication, side effects such as shock, skin rash, urticaria, blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, arrhythmias, gastrointestinal symptoms, neuropsychiatric symptoms, myalgia, skin abnormalities, etc. can occur, so if symptoms appear, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. Do not take this medication continuously for long periods, and periodically monitor symptoms and liver and kidney function during treatment. Particularly, elderly patients and those with chronic pulmonary disease, diabetes, or immunocompromised conditions may have an increased risk of pneumonia, so caution is warranted, and if dizziness or drowsiness occurs, driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided. This medication may interact with other drugs, so be sure to inform your healthcare provider of any medications you are currently taking, as some drugs may alter the effects of this medication, necessitating dosage adjustments or discontinuation. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication, and safety and efficacy for children have not been established, so its use is not recommended. In case of overdose, procedures such as vomiting or gastric lavage may be necessary, and if required, hemodialysis may be used to remove the drug. Finally, this medication reduces gastric acid secretion, which can promote bacterial growth in the gastrointestinal tract, so regular examinations including eye tests are required for prolonged use.
