Prevention of cisplatin-induced neuropathy
This medication is used to prevent neurological disorders that may occur when using cisplatin or similar chemotherapeutic agents.
In severe cases, 600-1200 mg is administered intramuscularly or by intravenous drip daily. In cases requiring several days of treatment or in mild cases, 300-600 mg is administered intramuscularly or by intravenous drip daily.
This medication can rarely cause serious allergic reactions, such as anaphylaxis, so patients' conditions should be observed closely during administration. If symptoms such as facial pallor, drop in blood pressure, or irregular pulse occur, administration should be stopped immediately. Additionally, rare hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes may occur, so it is advisable to discontinue use if such symptoms appear. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur rarely; if these symptoms persist, medical advice should be sought. When preparing the medication, it should be used immediately after dissolving the vial. When administering an intramuscular injection, care must be taken to avoid nerves and blood vessels. If repeated injections are required, the injection site should be changed to avoid continuous injection in the same area, especially in children and infants. The medication should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children, and to prevent misuse or degradation of quality, it must be kept in its original container with the lid tightly closed.
Anaphylactic symptoms (severe allergic reactions)
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent exposure to air, preferably at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. This helps maintain the efficacy of the medication and prevent deterioration.
