This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) if possible.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 18 years of age; therefore, the use of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, if pregnancy is confirmed, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Patients allergic to this medication's active ingredients or similar compounds, pregnant or nursing women, and those with severe renal or liver disease should avoid taking this medication. Patients with insufficient sodium or fluid within the body should correct their condition before taking this medication, and they should be closely monitored as low blood pressure may occur during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels or those using medications that can increase potassium levels should frequently check their potassium levels. Patients with renal vascular abnormalities or those who have undergone kidney transplants should closely monitor renal function while taking this medication. This medication should be used cautiously in patients with heart failure or myocardial infarction, and frequent checks of heart function and blood pressure are necessary. Dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery; caution is advised. In the case of overdose, severe hypotension or arrhythmias may occur, and appropriate medical treatment should be sought immediately if symptoms arise. This medication can interact with other antihypertensives, potassium-sparing diuretics, and some anti-inflammatory drugs; thus, patients should consult their doctor or pharmacist if they are taking any other medications. Women planning to become pregnant or currently pregnant should not use this medication, and nursing mothers should also refrain from taking it. Safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18 years of age, and it is not recommended for them. Elderly patients may be given doses similar to those for the general adult population, but caution may be necessary depending on their condition.
