This medication is primarily used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet of this medication by mouth once a week. Food may interfere with absorption, so it should be taken at least 30 minutes before breakfast or at least 2 hours before or after taking any food or drink. The tablet should be taken with 170-230ml of plain water in an upright position, and it should not be chewed or sucked. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it.

Precautions

This medication can irritate the stomach and esophagus, so it should be taken with a sufficient amount of water and the patient should not lie down for a certain period after taking it. If symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, chest pain, or heartburn occur, the patient should stop taking the medicine immediately and consult a physician. This drug is not to be used in patients with certain esophageal diseases, severe renal impairment, or those with lactose intolerance.
