This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in both postmenopausal women and men.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet of this medication orally once a week. Take it at least 30 minutes before breakfast, or at any time during the day, at least 2 hours before or after eating or drinking. Take it upright with a sufficient amount of plain water (170-230ml) and do not chew or suck on it, and remain upright for at least 30 minutes after taking.

Precautions

This medication may irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa, leading to adverse esophageal reactions such as esophagitis, esophageal ulcers, and esophageal erosion. If you experience problems with the esophagus, difficulty swallowing, pain behind the sternum, or heartburn, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Always take this medication with plenty of water, and do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it. Patients with delayed esophageal emptying or severe kidney impairment should not take this medication. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or lactose intolerance should also avoid taking it. It is advisable not to take medications or foods containing calcium, magnesium, iron, and aluminum simultaneously. Caution is necessary if undergoing dental surgery or oral infections due to the risk of jaw osteonecrosis, and maintaining oral hygiene is important. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a doctor, as taking this medication may affect the fetus or newborn. The safety for children has not been established, and it is advisable for children not to take this medication. Elderly patients can use it without special precautions, but they should consult a doctor if they have existing health conditions. Overdose may result in hypocalcemia, requiring immediate medical attention. This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container, protected from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.

Hives, severe swelling, tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mouth/eye mucosa, severe skin adverse reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, cough with fever in conjunction with respiratory abnormalities, yellowing of the skin or eyes, jaundice, extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances.
