In cases where SGPT levels are persistently elevated due to chronic persistent hepatitis, it indicates ongoing inflammation and damage to liver cells. In this situation, it is crucial to protect liver function and alleviate inflammation. The drug helps to improve liver function and reduce inflammation, contributing to the maintenance of liver health. Additionally, regular check-ups and lifestyle modifications are necessary. This drug is used for the treatment of chronic persistent hepatitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, 1 capsule orally 3 times a day after meals for adults.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with complete biliary obstruction. Additionally, this drug contains lactose and should not be administered to patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Caution should be exercised when using this drug in patients with chronic active hepatitis, cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic disease, peptic ulcer, and cholelithiasis. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occasionally occur during treatment, and rarely abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, and upper abdominal discomfort may also occur. Allergic reactions such as itching or rashes may arise, and skin rashes can occasionally appear, but they usually resolve when antihistamines are used together. Transient jaundice may appear, but the symptoms will resolve if the drug is discontinued or jaundice treatment is used. Rarely, symptoms such as general malaise or dizziness may also occur. In studies conducted on patients with chronic persistent hepatitis in Korea, the incidence of adverse drug reactions was very low; however, serious side effects such as cirrhosis, ascites, and acute hepatitis C have been reported, so caution is needed. The prescribed dosage and administration must be adhered to, and if symptoms do not improve after taking the medication for a maximum of 8 weeks or if abnormal symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued, and consultation with a physician or pharmacist should occur. It is important to keep this medication out of reach of children. It is advisable for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant to avoid using this medication due to reported risks of harm to the fetus in animal studies. Moreover, when taken with oral diabetes medications, the effects of the diabetes medications may be enhanced, so careful monitoring is required when using this drug.
