This medication is used for patients with acute coronary syndrome, namely unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction. It helps improve atherosclerotic symptoms such as death from cardiovascular events, myocardial infarction, stroke, or refractory ischemia in patients who have undergone drug treatment, coronary intervention, or coronary artery bypass surgery. It is also used to reduce the risk of stroke and atherothrombosis and thromboembolism in patients with atrial fibrillation who have one or more vascular risk factors and for whom Vitamin K antagonists are not appropriate due to low bleeding risk. Therefore, this drug effectively manages various cardiovascular-related risks and contributes to the improvement of patient health.
Dosage and Administration
Adult dosage
Administer one tablet once daily.
Precautions
This medication may cause bleeding that lasts longer than normal, so you must immediately inform your doctor if bleeding does not stop or if the bleeding area is unusual. Before undergoing surgery or taking new medications, be sure to inform healthcare personnel that you are taking this medication. Individuals with genetically decreased function of a specific enzyme (CYP2C19) may experience reduced effectiveness of this medication and increased cardiovascular risk, so caution is advised. Taking with certain drugs may alter the blood concentration of this medication, increasing the risk of bleeding; therefore, concomitant use is not recommended. People who consume a lot of alcohol daily may have an increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding when taking this medication, so they should consult their doctor or pharmacist. This medication should not be taken by anyone with an allergy to this drug or its components, those with bleeding disorders, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, or pregnant women in late pregnancy or breastfeeding. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease or a tendency to bleed should use this medication with caution, as the risk of bleeding may increase. If surgery is planned, this medication should be stopped 5-7 days before the procedure and restarted after hemostasis has been achieved. This medication may increase the risk of bleeding, so caution is needed when combined with other antiplatelet agents or anticoagulants. Children and adolescents are not recommended for using this medication, as its safety and effectiveness have not been established. If abnormal symptoms or signs of bleeding occur while taking this medication, you should immediately inform healthcare personnel, and appropriate tests such as blood tests may be necessary. While taking this medication, it does not affect driving or operating machinery, but the risk of bleeding should always be considered. In case of overdose, the risk of bleeding may significantly increase, so the prescribed dosage must be strictly adhered to. Store this medication out of reach of children, at room temperature, and it is recommended not to transfer it to another container.
