Improves blood pressure control in essential (primary) hypertension through combination of amlodipine and valsartan
This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension that is not controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan. It helps in effectively managing hypertension to reduce cardiovascular risk.
The recommended dose for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time each day (for example, in the morning) if possible.
Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and this medication is not recommended for use in this population.
This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to the active ingredient or similar compounds, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction, patients with certain heart conditions, should not take this medication. Patients with low sodium or body fluid levels should manage their condition before taking this medication, and during treatment, blood pressure and physical status should be closely monitored. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, if symptoms of hypotension occur, lie down and rest immediately, and seek medical assistance if necessary. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking other medications that can increase potassium levels should frequently monitor their potassium concentration and exercise caution. Patients with kidney issues or those who have received a kidney transplant should closely observe for changes in kidney function while on this medication. If symptoms of angioedema, such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue occur during treatment, discontinue the medication immediately and consult healthcare professionals. Patients recovering from heart failure or myocardial infarction should closely monitor kidney function and blood pressure when taking this medication, as symptoms may worsen, and they should consult a healthcare professional. This medication has not been adequately studied for safety and efficacy in children, and is not recommended for those under 18 years of age. Elderly patients may take the same dosage as adults, but their conditions should be carefully monitored. Caution is needed while driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or fatigue may occur. This medication may interact with other drugs, so patients should inform healthcare professionals about any medications they are currently taking. Overdose may cause severe hypotension or cardiac-related side effects, so it is crucial to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and report any abnormal symptoms to healthcare professionals immediately.
Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory distress accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, vision disturbances, paralysis, urination difficulties
