Summary

Main use
Treatment of gastrointestinal diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastritis
Who takes it
Adults
Adult dose
Generally, 2 tablets are administered orally twice a day, regardless of mealtime, in the morning and before bedtime. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers: 2 tablets are given 2 times a day or 4 tablets once daily before bedtime. Particularly for duodenal ulcer patients, administering 4 tablets twice a day, morning and before bedtime may yield a higher treatment rate. Ulcer due to NSAID administration or during long-term NSAID use follows the same dosage for preventing gastric and duodenal ulcers. Generally, conditions caused by NSAID administration typically heal within 8 weeks, but healing time may occasionally be extended for some patients. For recurrent ulcer patients, who have shown excellent results with short-term therapy, maintain treatment with 2 tablets once daily before bedtime. 2) Gastroesophageal reflux disease: Administer 2 tablets twice a day for 8 weeks or 4 tablets once daily before bedtime. In severe cases of gastroesophageal reflux disease, the dose may be increased to 4 tablets four times a day. 3) Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Start treatment with an initial dose of 2 tablets three times a day, and increase the dose as necessary. In severe conditions, as directed by a physician, up to 6 g of ranitidine can be prescribed per day. 4) Peptic ulcer, acute stress ulcer, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by acute mucosal lesions: Once oral administration is feasible, switch from injection to oral intake, administering 2 tablets twice a day. 5) Pre-anesthesia administration (prevention of Mendelson's syndrome): 2 tablets are given 2 hours before anesthesia induction. It is also advisable to administer 2 tablets on the night before surgery.
