Adult dosage
1. Catheter Insertion: Inject 6 mL or 11 mL of this drug. After cleaning the glans and urethra, slowly inject into the urethra and apply pressure to the glans until the effects of local anesthesia and disinfection are achieved. 2. Cystoscopy: Use 11 mL of this drug and may additionally inject 6 mL or 11 mL as needed. Apply to the entire urethra, including the external sphincter. 3. Urethral Stricture (Urethrotomy): Use 11 mL of this drug and may add 6 mL or 11 mL as needed and apply with a clamp. Urethral anesthetic effects appear 5 to 10 minutes later. 4. Disinfection: Apply or inject 6 mL or 11 mL of this drug evenly on the mucosa. 5. Others: Slowly inject 6 mL or 11 mL to the application site, and evenly coat the catheter or procedure tools to be inserted. Local anesthesia and disinfection effects appear 5 to 10 minutes later.

This drug is used for surface anesthesia and disinfection to prevent damage during catheter insertion, male and female urethral surgery, various endoscopic examinations, and during intubation, as well as to prevent rectal and colonic damage caused by procedures.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

1. Catheter Insertion: Inject 6 mL or 11 mL of this drug. After cleaning the glans and urethra, slowly inject into the urethra and apply pressure to the glans until the effects of local anesthesia and disinfection are achieved. 2. Cystoscopy: Use 11 mL of this drug and may additionally inject 6 mL or 11 mL as needed. Apply to the entire urethra, including the external sphincter. 3. Precautions

This drug should not be used in certain patients or areas. For instance, it should not be used in individuals allergic to any component of this drug, on damaged skin or around the eyes, in areas of the brain or spinal cord, or in the ears. Additionally, patients with porphyria, uncontrolled epilepsy, severe cardiac conduction abnormalities, and children under 2 years old should not use this drug. Caution should be exercised when using this drug in patients with open wounds at the application site, patients with septicemia, epilepsy, cardiac conditions, a history of asthma or allergies, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women. While using this drug, various side effects such as shock symptoms or serious neurological signs, cardiovascular issues, respiratory difficulties, gastrointestinal discomfort, skin rash, etc., may occur; therefore, careful observation is necessary. If such symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. In particular, when used as a local anesthetic, this drug can potentially cause shock or serious reactions, so it is important to prepare for emergency interventions. Also, the patient's past allergy history and overall condition must be thoroughly checked before using this drug. Overdosing this drug can lead to neurological toxicity or urethral damage, so adherence to the prescribed dosage is essential. Furthermore, care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and if contact occurs, it should be rinsed immediately with clean water. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should only use this drug when absolutely necessary under the physician's discretion, as it may affect the fetus or infant, and should avoid breastfeeding for about 12 hours after administration. This drug may interact with other medications, particularly antiarrhythmic drugs or certain analgesics, so caution is required. It is also advisable not to use this drug in conjunction with anionic substances like soap. Lastly, this drug should be stored in a tightly sealed container, protected from air and moisture, with a storage temperature maintained between 1 to 25 degrees Celsius. This helps maintain the drug's efficacy and safety for an extended period.

Serious side effects

Shock, hypotension, facial pallor, abnormal pulse, respiratory depression, tightness, severe neurological symptoms (tremors, seizures, confusion), convulsions, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, cardiovascular abnormalities, difficulty breathing, anaphylactic shock, severe allergic reactions.

Mild side effects

Dizziness, nausea, vomiting, discomfort, cold sweat, drowsiness, anxiety, agitation, indifference, nervousness, loss of consciousness, fatigue, disorientation, vision impairment, speech difficulties, tinnitus, sensory abnormalities, ecstatic feelings, hallucinations, depression, coma, restlessness, yawning, trembling, worry, eye twitching, pathological polydipsia, headache, slowed reactions, rapid breathing, gastrointestinal discomfort, redness, rash, urticaria, edema, contact allergy eczema due to chlorhexidine.
