Treatment of digestive diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis
This medication is used in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastritis, and also helps alleviate the symptoms of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Additionally, it is utilized as premedication to prevent Mendelson's syndrome and to prevent ulcer formation after surgery. It is also effective in treating gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal diseases.
Usually administered 2 tablets (given orally) twice a day, regardless of meals, in the morning and before bedtime. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers Administer 2 tablets twice a day or 4 tablets once a day before bedtime. Especially for patients with duodenal ulcers, administering 4 tablets twice a day, in the morning and before bedtime, can achieve a higher healing rate. The dosage remains the same in cases of ulcers due to NSAID use or for long-term NSAID prophylaxis against the development of gastric and duodenal ulcers. Generally, conditions arising from NSAID use heal within 4 weeks, though healing times may extend for some patients. For patients with recurrent ulcers, where short-term treatment has shown excellent efficacy, maintenance therapy consists of administering 2 tablets once a day before bedtime. 2) Gastroesophageal reflux disease Administer 2 tablets, twice a day or 4 tablets once a day before bedtime for 8 weeks. However, for severe gastroesophageal reflux disease patients, the dose can be increased to 4 tablets four times a day. 3) Zollinger-Ellison syndrome Begin treatment with an initial dose of 2 tablets three times a day, with potential increases as needed. In severe cases, under the guidance of a physician, doses of up to 6 g per day of ranitidine may be given. 4) Peptic ulcers, acute stress ulcers, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding due to acute mucosal lesions When oral administration becomes possible, switch from injection to oral administration, with a dosing of 2 tablets twice a day. 5) Premedication (Prevention of Mendelson's syndrome) Administer 2 tablets 2 hours before anesthesia induction. Also beneficial to administer 2 tablets the night before surgery.
