How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This drug works by expanding blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure. Therefore, taking it in combination with nitrate compounds or nitric oxide donors can potentially cause dangerously low blood pressure; consult a doctor before use. Patients with cardiovascular diseases must carefully assess their heart condition before taking this drug, and it should not be used when sexual activity is not recommended due to heart risks. This drug may temporarily lower blood pressure, so individuals with pre-existing cardiovascular conditions should exercise particular caution. Patients with life-threatening arrhythmias, heart failure, unstable angina pectoris, hypotension, hypertension, or pigmentary retinopathy have not established safety or effectiveness, thus need to be careful when taking this drug. If an erection lasts more than 4 hours or is accompanied by pain, immediate medical assistance should be sought, as failure to treat could result in penile tissue damage and loss of erectile function. Patients with left ventricular outflow obstruction or significantly impaired blood pressure control may be sensitive to this drug and should be cautious. Certain medications such as ritonavir can significantly increase the blood concentration of this drug, raising the risk of side effects, thus dosage adjustment may be necessary. Formulations containing aspartame should not be administered to patients with phenylketonuria. Patients who are allergic to this drug or any of its components, or those taking nitrate compounds should not take this medication. Patients for whom sexual activity is not recommended due to cardiovascular disease, those with severe liver failure, hypotension or uncontrollable hypertension, and those with a recent history of cardiovascular disease should not use this drug. This drug should not be used in conjunction with other erectile dysfunction treatments, and it is not suitable for individuals under 18 years or females. Special caution is advised for individuals with penile deformities, blood disorders, bleeding disorders, elderly patients, those with kidney failure, liver failure, or those taking certain medications. Common side effects include headache, flushing, dyspepsia, visual disturbances, dizziness, etc., while rare serious cardiovascular reactions or hearing loss and vision loss have been reported. During use, caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery as visual disturbances or dizziness may occur. Caution is also warranted when co-administering with alpha-blockers due to the risk of hypotension; dosing intervals must be observed. This drug may delay the onset of action if taken with food. Exceeding the recommended dosage may lead to aggravated side effects, thus it is crucial to adhere to the recommended dosage, and in the case of overdose, appropriate treatment should be sought immediately.
