Improvement of myocardial ischemia caused by hypertension and angina (stable and variant) and reduced risk of angina hospitalization.
This medication is used for hypertension and stable angina, as well as myocardial ischemia due to coronary vasospasm. It also helps to reduce the risk of hospitalization for patients who have confirmed coronary artery disease through recent angiography, without heart failure or decreased cardiac output, and to lower the risk of coronary artery revascularization. Therefore, it is effectively used in the management of cardiovascular disease and symptom relief.
Adults: Administer 5 mg orally once daily as amlodipine, and may increase to a maximum of 10 mg per day depending on the patient's response. Adjust according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to individuals allergic to this medication or similar drugs, those with severe liver dysfunction, severe aortic stenosis, and patients in a state of shock. Additionally, it should be used cautiously in patients with severe hypotension, those requiring dialysis due to renal failure, elderly patients, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. While using this medication, various side effects may occur, with the most common being flushing, fatigue, edema, palpitations, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, abdominal pain, and nausea. Rarely, symptoms like excessively low blood pressure, vasculitis, neurological abnormalities, erectile dysfunction, skin rashes, and liver dysfunction may appear, so if any unusual symptoms occur, immediate consultation with medical personnel is necessary. For heart failure patients or those with impaired liver function, the effects of this medication may differ, requiring careful use. This drug has a slow action in the body and is not suitable for urgent blood pressure reduction. There may be interactions with this medication when used with other drugs, so it is important to inform healthcare providers about any other medications being taken. In particular, caution is needed when used with certain antibiotics or heart medications, as the risk of excessively low blood pressure may arise. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult with a doctor before using this medication and are recommended to avoid taking the medication while breastfeeding. This medication is safe for use only in children aged 6 years and older, and its efficacy and safety have not been established in children under 6 years of age. Taking more than the prescribed amount can lead to severe hypotension and heart problems, so care should be taken not to exceed the dosage, and if overdose is suspected, immediate medical treatment should be sought. Lastly, this medication is known not to significantly affect driving or operating machinery, but dizziness may occur in some individuals, so caution is advised.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), severe allergic reactions, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, liver abnormalities (jaundice), toxic epidermal necrolysis, severe skin reaction, angioedema, erythema multiforme, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, respiratory distress, severe neurological symptoms, severe edema or urinary abnormalities, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, severe hypotension, shock, pulmonary edema.

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a container that prevents light from entering. Additionally, it is important to maintain a temperature between 1 degrees and 30 degrees Celsius when storing the medication. This helps to preserve the effectiveness of the drug for a longer duration.
