How to take

Adult dose

It is recommended to administer 1 tablet as the initial dose, with subsequent doses spaced at least 12 hours apart, not exceeding 4 tablets per day. If prolonged administration is necessary, regular monitoring should be conducted to confirm the continuity of treatment. For the elderly, the usual adult dosage is recommended; however, those over 75 years should administer it at intervals of at least 12 hours.

Precautions

This medication may put stress on the liver, so those who regularly consume more than three drinks of alcohol per day must consult a physician or pharmacist before using it. If a serious skin reaction occurs during the use of this medication, such as rash, itching, or blisters, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. The inclusion of tramadol may increase the risk of seizures if the recommended dosage is exceeded; therefore, strict adherence to the dosage is required. Particular caution is required when used in conjunction with certain antidepressants or other central nervous system drugs, as this may increase the risk of seizures. For patients with compromised respiratory function or severe acute asthma, this medication may pose a risk of respiratory depression and should only be administered under the supervision of healthcare personnel. Concurrent use of this medication with alcohol or benzodiazepines may lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma, and such combination should be avoided. Patients with head injuries or brain disorders may experience worsening intracranial pressure or respiratory depression from this medication; thus, caution is necessary. Long-term use may lead to psychological and physical dependence due to the components of this medication, so the duration and dosage should be adjusted according to a physician's instructions. Since the acetaminophen component can burden the liver, patients with compromised liver function should only take this medication after consulting a physician. Those with specific genotypes may experience accelerated metabolism of this medication, increasing the risk of side effects; in such cases, dosage adjustments or alternative medications may be necessary. Children under 12 years of age or adolescents under 18 years who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy should not take this medication, and adolescents aged 12 to 18 should avoid use if particular risk factors are present. Electrolyte disturbances like hyponatremia may occur, so elderly patients or those at risk should undergo regular blood tests. Patients with an allergic reaction to any component of this medication or with certain severe conditions should not take it, and if any unusual symptoms occur while taking the medication, immediate consultation with healthcare personnel is necessary. Caution is required when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. In the event of overdose, severe respiratory depression or liver damage may occur; therefore, adherence to the prescribed dosage is critical, and in case of overdose, contact medical institutions immediately.
