View approved original text

This medication is recommended for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine or losartan. Additionally, it is used as initial therapy for patients with stage 2 hypertension who require combination therapy to reach target blood pressure. Therefore, it is effectively used for essential hypertension and blood pressure control.

Typically, this medication is administered as 5/50 mg once daily, and if blood pressure is still not adequately controlled after two weeks of therapy, the dose may be increased to 10/50 mg once daily.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Due to its blood pressure-lowering effect, hypotensive symptoms may occur in patients with low intravascular blood volume upon initial use, so caution is needed. It should not be used in patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients or in those with severely impaired liver or heart function. In patients with high potassium levels in the blood or decreased kidney function, caution should be exercised, and regular testing is necessary. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur during treatment, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. If taken with other antihypertensive medications, the blood pressure-lowering effect may be enhanced, so it should be taken according to the physician's instructions. This medication is not recommended for breastfeeding women, and caution is required for children and elderly patients aged 75 years or older as safety has not been adequately established. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop too low or heart rhythm may become irregular, so dosage should be carefully followed.
