This medication is used to treat epithelial damage of the conjunctiva caused by endogenous diseases such as Sjögren's syndrome, mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), and dry eye syndrome, as well as exogenous conditions resulting from surgery, drug use, trauma, and contact lens wear.

How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

Instill 1 drop of 0.1% or 0.3% formulation 5-6 times a day. Adjust as appropriate based on symptoms. Typically, the 0.1% formulation is used, while the 0.3% formulation is administered for severe conditions.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with an allergy to protein-based drugs. Using this medication may cause symptoms such as eyelid itching, eye irritation, conjunctivitis, congestion, corneal damage, and foreign body sensation. If these symptoms occur, it should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. Also, eyelid inflammation or dermatitis may occasionally occur, so if these symptoms appear, use should be discontinued and treatment should be initiated. This medication may exhibit more side effects when used in conjunction with steroids, dry eye treatments, antibiotics, glaucoma treatments, antihistamines, cataract treatments, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so caution is advised. Simultaneous use with other eye drops should be avoided, and if necessary, this medication should be used 30 minutes after the other eye drops. This medication should only be used for direct instillation into the eye, and special care should be taken to avoid contact between the tip of the container and the eyelid or eyelashes. For single-use products, the first 1-2 drops should be discarded before use, and after opening, it should be used only once, discarding any remaining medication. It is recommended not to share this medication with others and to use it personally to prevent contamination. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store it in a cool place. Additionally, transferring the medication to another container may pose a risk of misuse, so it must be kept in its original container.
