Local treatment for moderate to severe scalp psoriasis and plaque psoriasis
This medication is used for the local treatment of moderate to severe scalp psoriasis and extrapolated plaque psoriasis in adolescents aged 12 and older as well as adults. It helps alleviate inflammation of the scalp and skin and improves symptoms, effectively managing the skin condition of patients.
This medication is applied once daily to the affected area. It is recommended to use for 4 weeks on the scalp and 8 weeks on body areas other than the scalp. The daily dosage should not exceed 15 g, and the maximum weekly dosage for adults should not exceed 100 g. The area of the body surface area treated with calcipotriene contained in this medication should not exceed 30 %. When using on the scalp, apply to the entire affected area; usually between 1 g to 4 g per day is sufficient (4 g corresponds to 1 teaspoon). This medication should not be applied directly to the face or eyes. For optimal effects, it is recommended not to shower or wash hair immediately after applying this medication. It should remain on the skin during the night or daytime. Shake the bottle before using this medication. Wash hands after use.
The daily dosage should not exceed 15 g, and the maximum weekly dosage for adolescents should not exceed 60 g.
This medication should not be used in certain patients. Patients who have an allergy or hypersensitivity to this drug or its ingredients, patients with calcium metabolism issues, patients with certain types of psoriasis, severe renal or liver disease, children, and those with inflammatory ear canal eczema with a perforated eardrum should not be administered this medication. Additionally, patients with skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or parasites, patients with wounds, mucosal areas, ulcers, severe burns, perioral dermatitis or acne, and genital itching should also refrain from using this medication. Pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, elderly patients, and those with liver dysfunction or diabetes should use this medication cautiously, as corticosteroids may influence blood sugar levels. Side effects such as itching, dermatitis, rash, skin irritation, and dryness may occur while using this medication, and rarely skin infections or hypersensitivity reactions and eye irritation may develop. Care should be taken as serious side effects such as skin atrophy, vascular expansion, and adrenal function suppression can occur, especially if used for a prolonged period or over a large area. While using this medication, it is vital to adhere to the prescribed dosage and frequency, and avoid contact with the face, around the eyes, mouth area, and genital skin. Hands should be washed thoroughly after use, and if symptoms worsen or do not improve, discontinue use and consult a doctor. Excessive sun exposure should be avoided during the use of this medication, and it is recommended not to use it with other corticosteroids or salicylic acid preparations. Pregnant or nursing women should carefully consider the potential impacts on the fetus or infant when using this medication, and for children, safety and efficacy have not been fully established, so use is not recommended for those under 12 years of age. In case of overdose, elevated serum calcium levels can occur, and systemic side effects such as adrenal function suppression may arise, thus caution is essential. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, used within 6 months after opening, and kept away from direct sunlight without refrigeration.
Hypersensitivity reactions (including urticaria, angioedema, facial swelling), worsening of skin infections, pustular psoriasis, hypercalcemia, systemic adrenal insufficiency, edema, severe adrenal cortex dysfunction, severe rashes accompanied by high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, sudden and severe headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, severe edema accompanied by elevated blood pressure, severe allergic reactions, blurred vision, and visual impairment
Itching, skin infections (such as bacterial, fungal, and viral skin infections), folliculitis, eye irritation, worsening of psoriasis, dermatitis, erythema, rash (such as erythematous rash and pustular rash), acne, skin burning sensation, skin irritation, skin dryness, skin peeling, skin folds, desquamation, petechial bleeding, purpura, local pain (such as burning), rebound effect, rash, neuropathic pain, fever, allergic contact dermatitis, prickly heat, worsening of wounds, pressure sores, pustulosis

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a tightly sealed container that does not allow light in. It is best to maintain the storage temperature between 9 and 30 degrees Celsius.
It is a nearly transparent, colorless to whitish, oily gel. A thin oily layer appears on the surface.
