This medication is effective against infectious agents such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis. It is particularly used for treating recurrent or persistent acute otitis media and recurrent acute sinusitis in pediatric patients. However, the treatment targets are limited to children who have had antibiotic treatment within the last 3 months, are under 2 years old, or attend daycare. This medication effectively improves infections in pediatric patients that satisfy these conditions.
