Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medication helps provide additional blood pressure control for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil. It plays a crucial role in reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications and is effective for hypertension treatment. It supports patients' blood pressure management to contribute to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, this medication is used for the treatment of essential hypertension.
This medication is to be taken once daily, one tablet with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine 5 mg or olmesartan medoxomil 20 mg. - 10/20 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of olmesartan medoxomil 20 mg.
Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years.
This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to any components of this medication, severe liver impairment, aortic stenosis, biliary obstruction, those on renal dialysis, in shock, or certain diabetes patients should not take this medication. Patients with a lack of bodily fluids or salts may experience hypotension, so their condition should be closely monitored at the beginning of treatment. Patients with aortic stenosis should be particularly cautious due to the risk of sudden blood vessel dilation and hypotension. Patients with severe heart diseases should use this medication with caution as it may increase the risk of angina or myocardial infarction. Patients with compromised renal function may experience worsening renal function due to this medication, thus requiring careful monitoring. Patients with liver impairment may have prolonged exposure to the medication in their bodies, necessitating dosage adjustment and observation. Side effects such as dizziness, headaches, hypotension, edema, dyspepsia may occur; severe symptoms should prompt consultation with a physician. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, and nursing mothers should consult their doctor before taking it, as the drug may pass into breast milk and affect the infant. Children under 18 years should not use this medication due to lack of established safety and efficacy. Elderly patients may have reduced liver, kidney, or heart function, should start at low doses, and their condition should be closely observed. In case of overdose, severe hypotension and vasodilation may occur, requiring immediate medical assistance and continuous monitoring of blood pressure and heart function. This medication should be stored away from direct sunlight and moisture, out of reach of children. This medication can interact with other antihypertensive medications, so any other medications being taken must be disclosed, and caution should be taken as grapefruit juice may increase blood pressure-lowering effects.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, difficulty breathing, severe skin reactions, liver abnormalities (jaundice), severe neurological symptoms, significant swelling or urination problems, severe allergic reactions, hair loss, rhabdomyolysis, acute renal failure, autoimmune hepatitis, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, toxic epidermal necrolysis, angioedema, gallstones, exacerbation of cerebral infarction, gum bleeding, angioedema, acute renal failure, hypotension, hypertension, severe heart issues.

This medication may be sensitive to air and moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. Additionally, it is best to store the medication at room temperature, between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius, avoiding excessively hot or cold conditions.
