Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
If your blood pressure is not adequately controlled using Amlodipine or Olmesartan Medoxomil as monotherapy, these agents can be used to effectively manage blood pressure in the treatment of essential hypertension. These drugs help maintain blood pressure within the normal range by either dilating blood vessels or lowering blood pressure. Therefore, these drugs are used in the treatment of essential hypertension.
This medication is taken once daily, with one tablet, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20 milligrams: For patients whose blood pressure is inadequately controlled by Amlodipine 5 milligrams or Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 milligrams used alone. - 10/20 milligrams: For patients whose blood pressure is inadequately controlled by Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 milligrams used alone.
Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be administered to individuals with allergies to this drug's main ingredients or similar substances, pregnant or lactating women, patients with severe liver impairment or aortic stenosis, patients with biliary obstruction, patients undergoing dialysis, patients in shock, and certain diabetic patients. Careful monitoring of the patient's condition is required upon initial use in hypotensive patients with fluid or sodium depletion, as low blood pressure may occur. Patients with aortic stenosis should be particularly cautious as blood vessels may dilate and cause acute hypotension. Patients with severe obstructive coronary artery disease may experience an increased risk of angina or myocardial infarction when using this drug. Patients with heart failure should use this drug with caution, and those with impaired kidney function should closely monitor kidney function during treatment. Patients with liver dysfunction should be cautious as this drug is metabolized in the liver. During treatment, side effects such as dizziness, headaches, hypotension, nausea, edema, etc. may occur, and rare cases of serious allergic reactions or liver function abnormalities may also arise. Particularly during pregnancy, the drug may be hazardous to the fetus, and lactating women should either discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking the drug. Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years have not been established, and its use in this population is not recommended. Elderly individuals may have impaired liver, kidney, or heart function, so starting dosage should be low, with close monitoring of their condition. In the event of an overdose, hypotension and cardiac function impairment may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. This drug should be stored away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of reach of children. Additionally, there may be interactions with other medications, so patients must inform their doctors or pharmacists and seek consultation.
Hives, angioedema, cholelithiasis, female breast neoplasm, worsening of cerebral infarction, gum bleeding, seizures, hematuria, rhabdomyolysis, acute kidney injury, autoimmune hepatitis, toxic epidermal necrolysis, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucous membranes, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, worsening of pulmonary congestion heart failure, severe hypotension, fainting due to hypotension, serious liver abnormalities (jaundice)

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent air or moisture ingress, ideally at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. Proper temperature and storage methods are essential to maintain the drug's effectiveness and ensure safe use.
