This medicine alleviates symptoms caused by gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, excessive gastric acid such as heartburn, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and belching, and improves symptoms by protecting the gastric mucosa through an antacid effect.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 g of Almagate three times a day, chewing it orally 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals. An additional dose may be taken before bedtime if necessary.

Child dose

For children aged 12 and older, take 1 g of Almagate three times a day, chewing it orally 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals. An additional dose may be taken before bedtime if necessary.

Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by individuals who have allergic reactions to this medicine or its ingredients. Patients with Alzheimer's disease, those with hemorrhoids, individuals with edema, patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension, those experiencing diarrhea, and individuals with unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding should also avoid taking this medication. It is advisable not to take this medication along with tetracycline antibiotics, as absorption of the antibiotic may be hindered. Those who are taking other medications should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine, as it may affect the absorption or excretion of other drugs. Specifically, it is necessary to space out the timing by 2 to 3 hours when taking it with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ulcer treatment agents, digitalis preparations, certain antibiotics, and iron preparations. Patients with impaired kidney function should be cautious, as magnesium or aluminum components may accumulate in the body, and this medication is not recommended for those with severe renal impairment. Additionally, individuals who are physically weak or have insufficient intake of phosphorus, and those with malabsorption issues should take care, as long-term use may affect bone health. Elderly patients, individuals with symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and nursing mothers should definitely consult a professional before use.
