Treatment of gastrointestinal diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, and gastritis
This medicine is used for the treatment of ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, gastritis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and diseases caused by excessive secretion of gastric acid, as well as gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective in preventing Mendelson's syndrome before anesthesia and treating ulcers after surgery, as well as ulcers in the stomach and duodenum caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It helps to protect the gastric mucosa and improve symptoms by inhibiting gastric acid secretion. Therefore, this drug is used to improve various gastric-related diseases.
Typically, 2 tablets are taken orally twice a day, in the morning and just before bedtime, regardless of meals. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers 2 tablets taken twice daily or 4 tablets taken once daily just before bedtime. Particularly for patients with duodenal ulcers, taking 4 tablets twice daily in the morning and before bedtime can achieve a higher treatment rate. For ulcers or ulcers from nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug use, the dosage is the same in combination therapy to prevent gastric and duodenal ulcers. Typically, diseases caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug use heal within 4 weeks, although healing times may occasionally extend for some patients. For patients who have had excellent short-term results with recurrence of the ulcer, the maintenance therapy is to take 2 tablets once daily before bedtime. 2) Gastroesophageal reflux disease Take 2 tablets, twice a day for 8 weeks, or take 4 tablets once daily before bedtime. However, for severe gastroesophageal reflux disease patients, the dose may be increased to 4 tablets 4 times a day. 3) Zollinger-Ellison syndrome Initial dosage is to start treatment with 2 tablets three times a day and may be increased if necessary. In the case of severe illness, under the guidance of a physician, up to 6 g of ranitidine can be administered daily. 4) Peptic ulcers, acute stress ulcers, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding due to acute gastric mucosal lesions When oral administration is possible, switch from injection to oral administration of 2 tablets twice a day. 5) Pre-anesthesia administration (prevention of Mendelson’s syndrome) Administer 2 tablets 2 hours before the induction of anesthesia. In this case, it is also recommended to administer 2 tablets on the night before surgery.
