Treatment of gastrointestinal diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis
This medication is used for gastric diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective in preventing ulcers that occur after surgery and treating ulcers caused by NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). It helps prevent Mendelson's syndrome when administered before anesthesia. This medication protects the gastric mucosa and regulates gastric acid secretion, alleviating symptoms and promoting recovery from the disease. As a result, it is used for treating and preventing various gastric-related diseases.
Generally, without regard to meals, 2 tablets should be taken orally twice a day in the morning and before bedtime. 1) Gastric/Duodenal Ulcer: Take 2 tablets twice a day or 4 tablets once at night. 2) Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease: For 8 weeks, take 2 tablets twice a day or 4 tablets once at night. 3) Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Start treatment with an initial dose of 2 tablets three times a day.
This medication should not be used by patients undergoing dialysis or anyone who has previously shown allergic reactions to this drug or its components. Those with a history of the rare condition acute porphyria should also avoid this medication as symptoms may worsen. It is safest not to administer this drug to patients with poor kidney function, those who have undergone gastrointestinal surgery, pregnant women or women with a possibility of pregnancy, and premature infants or neonates. Patients on a potassium-restricted diet should also exercise caution. Special care should be taken when using this medication in patients with impaired liver function, those with drug allergies, the elderly, and those with a history of renal issues. For patients taking NSAIDs, particularly the elderly or those with a history of peptic ulcers, regular health checks are necessary. Since this medication may mask symptoms of gastric cancer, gastric ulcer patients or middle-aged patients with newly developed or changed dyspeptic symptoms should first confirm that there is no malignancy before using it. Patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori should also receive eradication therapy. Critical care patients or those with hypophosphatemia and patients with swallowing difficulties should be closely monitored for potential side effects after using this medication. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock; if symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and inform medical personnel. Allergic symptoms such as skin rashes, hives, angioedema, fever, bronchospasm, and hypotension may also occur, and use should be discontinued if these symptoms develop. A variety of side effects have been reported, including decreased blood cell counts, liver function abnormalities, arrhythmias, gastrointestinal symptoms, and neuropsychiatric symptoms; any unusual symptoms should prompt immediate consultation with medical personnel. Long-term use should be avoided, and the treatment progress should be carefully monitored, using the minimum effective dose. The elderly or those with chronic lung diseases, diabetes, or weakened immunity may be at increased risk for pneumonia while taking this medication. If dizziness or drowsiness occurs, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. This drug can interact with other medications; if taking other medications, be sure to inform medical personnel, and it may be necessary to space out the dosing times for certain medications. It is safest for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this medication, and safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established in children, so its use is not recommended. In case of overdose, emergency measures such as vomiting or gastric lavage may be necessary, so seek medical attention immediately. Long-term use of this medication may impact eye health, possibly necessitating regular eye exams.

Store this medication in a tightly sealed container to prevent air exposure, preferably at a temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage helps maintain the medication's efficacy for a long time.
