Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis (a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown origin), or kidney disease. Also, those with allergic reactions to this medication or its components, infants under 12 months of age, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe kidney failure should refrain from using it. While taking this medication, it is advisable to avoid taking it with drugs such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracyclines, antacids, and levodopa. Infants under 1 year of age, patients currently receiving treatment from a doctor, children receiving ample sunlight and normal meals, patients with hyperoxaluria, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, premature infants, or children must consult with a professional before taking this medication. Special caution is needed because vitamin D can cause hypercalcemia in newborns through breast milk. Those with heart or circulatory disorders, kidney impairments, hypoproteinemia, gout, or a history of kidney stones should also seek consultation before taking this medication. If nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, rash, irregular heartbeat, or central nervous system issues occur while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a professional. In addition, if menstrual changes or bleeding persist, women taking estrogen-containing oral contraceptives should be cautious due to the increased risk of thrombosis. Long-term high-dose use may lead to tolerance and when taken with specific vitamins or medications, neuropathy or hematological adverse reactions may occur, so caution is necessary. High-dose use may cause side effects such as gastrointestinal ulcers, impaired glucose metabolism, liver damage, edema, and heart failure. Furthermore, concomitant use with certain diuretics may dangerously elevate serum potassium levels, so caution is needed. If overdose occurs or symptoms do not improve after more than one month of use, consulting a professional is essential. This medication should be taken strictly according to the prescribed dosage and children should be supervised by guardians during use. During use, some urine test results may be affected, and urine color may change, potentially influencing clinical tests. It is advisable to avoid consuming tea with tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before and after use. When storing, keep it in a tightly closed container away from children, avoiding direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place. It is also important not to transfer it to another container to prevent misuse and maintain the quality of the medication.
