This drug is used to effectively manage blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this drug is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). 5/80 mg: Administer to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 80 mg monotherapy. 5/160 mg: Administer to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 160 mg monotherapy.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 18 years of age, and administration of this drug is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug can cause severe harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. Therefore, it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with allergies to the components of this drug, pregnant or nursing women, and patients with severe renal or liver dysfunction should not take this medication. Special caution is needed for patients with sodium or fluid depletion, hyperkalemia, renal artery stenosis, and those who have recently undergone kidney transplantation, and these patients should take the medication under strict medical supervision. While taking this drug, side effects such as dizziness, headache, edema, hypotension, cough, and skin rash may occur, and any abnormal symptoms should be consulted with medical personnel immediately. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, as this medication may cause dizziness or fatigue. Interactions may occur if taken with other blood pressure medications, potassium supplements, diuretics, certain antibiotics, or grapefruit juice; therefore, it is essential to inform healthcare providers of all medications currently being taken. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not take this drug, and its use is also not recommended for nursing mothers. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years old due to insufficient evidence of safety and efficacy. Elderly patients can take a dose similar to that of the general adult population, but they should follow their doctor's advice based on their physical condition. Overdose may result in severe hypotension or cardiac-related issues; therefore, the prescribed dosage must be adhered to, and emergency measures should be sought if any abnormal symptoms occur.
