This medication can effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling their blood pressure with monotherapy using amlodipine or valsartan. It helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular-related complications and improves health.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water, irrespective of meals. It is suggested to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning). 5/80 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy using amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 80 mg. 5/160 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy using amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 160 mg.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established, so administration of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be stopped immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with allergies to any ingredient in this medication, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients with severe kidney or liver impairment should not take this medication. Patients who are sodium or fluid depleted may experience hypotension, so their condition should be carefully monitored before and during treatment. It is advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women to avoid taking this medication, and it is not recommended for children due to insufficient evidence of safety and efficacy. Overdosage may lead to severe hypotension or heart problems; therefore, the dosage must be strictly adhered to, and patients should go to the hospital immediately in case of an overdose. Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis.
