Improvement of blood pressure control in cases of insufficient monotherapy for hypertension
This medication is used for patients with hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy. It helps to lower blood pressure more effectively and assists in managing blood pressure.
The recommended dosage for adults is 1 tablet of losartan potassium 50 mg/hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily. A dosage exceeding losartan potassium 100 mg/hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg per day is not preferable. For patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with monotherapy of losartan or hydrochlorothiazide, initiate treatment with losartan potassium 50 mg/hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily.
There is no experience of use in pediatric and adolescent populations, therefore the losartan-hydrochlorothiazide combination should not be administered to children and adolescents.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately. Patients who are allergic to the ingredients in this medication or have specific kidney, liver, or electrolyte abnormalities should not take it, and pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should avoid it. Patients with low blood pressure or weak kidney function, liver disease, hyperuricemia, or gout should use this medication with caution, and elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more frequently. During treatment, blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels should be regularly monitored, with special attention to changes in potassium levels. While taking this medication, avoid excessive exposure to sunlight, and if you notice any skin abnormalities, consult a physician immediately. In addition, this medication may interact with other antihypertensives, diuretics, potassium supplements, etc., so inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medications. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur after taking this medication, so care is needed when driving or operating machinery. Pregnant or nursing women should consult with a physician before taking this medication, and if breastfeeding, it is recommended to either avoid taking the medication or discontinue breastfeeding. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children and adolescents has not been established, so it should not be administered to them. In case of overdose, symptoms such as low blood pressure or tachycardia may occur, so immediate medical attention should be sought for appropriate treatment.

Abdominal pain, swelling/tumefaction, palpitations, back pain, dizziness, cough, sinusitis, upper respiratory infection, weakness/fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, headache, bronchitis, pharyngitis, chest pain, facial swelling, fever, orthostatic hypotension, fainting, angina, arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation, sinus bradycardia, tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation), cerebrovascular accident, hypotension, myocardial infarction, secondary AV block, loss of appetite, constipation, toothache, dry mouth, dyspepsia, flatulence, gastritis, vomiting

This medication should be stored in a special container to protect it from light and air, and it is best kept at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C. This will help maintain the drug's efficacy and ensure safe use.
