Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension with the combination of amlodipine and valsartan
This medication helps lower blood pressure more effectively by using both drugs together when blood pressure control is difficult with either amlodipine or valsartan alone in patients with essential hypertension. By managing blood pressure stably, it reduces the risk of complications such as heart disease or stroke. Therefore, the combination therapy of amlodipine and valsartan is used for the treatment of essential hypertension.
The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning).
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so its use is not recommended.
This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn when taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. People with allergies to the main ingredient or similar components, pregnant women or women of childbearing age, nursing mothers, patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction should not take this medication. Patients with low sodium or fluid levels in the body, patients with hyperkalemia, patients with kidney vascular issues, patients who have recently received kidney transplants, patients with a history of angioedema, patients with heart failure or those recovering from myocardial infarction should be especially cautious when taking this medication and require close observation by a physician. This drug lowers blood pressure but may cause side effects such as hypotension, dizziness, headache, edema, gastrointestinal disturbances, skin rashes, etc. In case of side effects, consult a physician immediately. Caution is needed while driving or operating machinery as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. This drug may interact with other antihypertensives, diuretics, potassium supplements, certain anti-inflammatory drugs, so inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications. It is recommended that women who are pregnant or breastfeeding avoid this medication, and if planning to become pregnant, consult a physician before taking it. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 18 years of age have not been established, so its use is not recommended in this age group. In elderly patients, the same dosage as for adults can be used, but close monitoring is necessary. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac side effects may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. It is important to regularly check blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels while taking this medication.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attacks, respiratory symptoms accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), pronounced fatigue, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, vision changes, paralysis, urination.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture, at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way helps maintain its efficacy and safety.
