Improvement of blood pressure control with the combination of amlodipine and valsartan in essential hypertension
This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension who have not achieved sufficient blood pressure control with amlodipine or valsartan monotherapy.
The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning). If blood pressure is not controlled with amlodipine or valsartan monotherapy, the following doses can be administered: - 5/80 mg: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 80 mg monotherapy. - 5/160 mg: For
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, therefore its use is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, therefore it should be discontinued immediately once pregnancy is confirmed. Patients who are allergic to the active ingredients or similar classes of medications, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe renal or hepatic diseases, and patients with certain vascular diseases should not take this medication. Patients with insufficient sodium or fluid in the body should check their condition before taking this medication, and if symptoms of hypotension occur during treatment, they should lie down immediately and receive IV fluids if necessary. Patients with high potassium levels or taking potassium-sparing diuretics should have their potassium levels monitored frequently, and patients with impaired renal function should exercise caution. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, patients with heart failure or those recovering from a myocardial infarction should periodically check kidney function and blood pressure. Caution is required when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. Overdose of this medication can lead to severe hypotension or heart rate abnormalities requiring immediate medical attention. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives or certain anti-inflammatory drugs, potassium-sparing agents, etc., so patients should inform their doctor or pharmacist about any other medications they are taking. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 18 years of age has not been sufficiently established, and it is not recommended for this age group. If any adverse symptoms or side effects occur during treatment, patients should consult a healthcare professional immediately.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash accompanied by fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe general malaise, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, vision disturbances, paralysis, urination issues.

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from exposure to air or moisture. It is recommended to store it at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius.
