Relief of symptoms of gastric ulcer and gastroesophageal reflux disease, and treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection
This medication is used for the treatment of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It is also effective for the relief of symptoms of erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is applicable for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent the recurrence of gastroesophageal reflux disease and is treated in combination with antibiotics for patients with digestive ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori. Finally, it is also helpful for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is effectively used for various gastrointestinal diseases.
Typically, for adults, 10 mg of Rabeprazole Sodium is administered orally once daily. Depending on symptoms, 20 mg may be administered orally once daily. Typically for gastric ulcers, it is given for up to 8 weeks, and for duodenal ulcers, for up to 6 weeks. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease, 10 mg or 20 mg is administered once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. If not improved after 8 weeks of proton pump inhibitors, additional 8 weeks of treatment may be necessary.
This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to this drug or its ingredients or have hypersensitivity to specific antibiotics or other medications. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also not take this medication. Patients with poor liver function or elderly patients should exercise greater caution when using this drug. If allergic symptoms such as rash or itching occur during treatment, you must stop taking the medication immediately. It is important to regularly undergo blood tests and liver function tests to check for abnormalities.
