Chronic persistent hepatitis with continuously elevated SGPT indicates a state of liver dysfunction. In this case, treatment is required to reduce inflammation of the hepatitis and prevent damage to liver cells. The medication helps restore liver function and alleviate inflammation. It is also used to stabilize the condition of the liver and prevent symptom deterioration. Through this treatment, patients' liver health can be improved. Therefore, it is used for chronic persistent hepatitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Generally, 1 capsule orally after meals, 3 times a day for adults.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete biliary obstruction. Moreover, as it contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Caution should be exercised when using this drug in patients with chronic active hepatitis, cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic disease, peptic ulcers, or gallstones. Digestive symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, and upper gastrointestinal discomfort may occur while taking this medication. Additionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as itching or rash may occur rarely, and occasionally skin rashes may develop, but usually these symptoms resolve when used with antihistamines. Transient jaundice may appear, in which case discontinuing the medication or using jaundice treatment agents will resolve the symptoms. Rarely, generalized malaise or dizziness may also occur. This medication has reported serious side effects such as cirrhosis, ascites, and acute hepatitis C in a six-year post-marketing study, so caution is needed. It is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage and regimen, and if symptoms do not improve after taking the medication for more than 8 weeks or if abnormal symptoms develop, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. It must be stored out of the reach of children. Pregnant women or women of childbearing potential are advised not to use this medication due to reports suggesting it may harm the fetus in animal studies. Additionally, caution should be exercised when taking it with oral antidiabetic medications, as it may enhance the effects of these diabetes medications.
