This medication may cause liver damage in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages a day; hence, consultation with a physician or pharmacist is essential. This medication contains acetaminophen; taking it in conjunction with other products containing acetaminophen may exceed the maximum daily dosage and increase the risk of liver damage, so they should not be taken together. Individuals allergic to chlorzoxazone or acetaminophen, or those who have had hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, swelling, or itching with this medication should not take it. If symptoms such as hives, swelling, chest tightness, or difficulty breathing occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. Caution is advised when taking this medication alongside barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, or alcohol, as it may slow the metabolism of acetaminophen and increase liver toxicity. People with severe liver or kidney disease or a history of allergies should use this medication with caution. This medication may cause allergic reactions such as hives, redness, and itching, and rarely can lead to side effects like liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal bleeding, drowsiness, and dizziness. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should consult a physician before use as the safety of this medication has not been established. Caution is needed as this medication may potentiate the effects of alcohol or central nervous system depressants, posing a risk. Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
