Local anesthesia effect for injections and superficial surgical procedures, mucosal surfaces of the genitalia, and leg ulcer surfaces
This medication is used to anesthetize the skin surface when inserting an injection needle or during minor surgical procedures. It is also effective for mucosal surface anesthesia of the genitalia, for example, before the removal of condylomas. Additionally, it is used as a local anesthetic before washing or performing superficial surgery on areas such as leg ulcers. It is very useful in various superficial anesthesia situations and minimizes discomfort for patients. Therefore, it is used for injections, mucosal anesthesia, and anesthesia prior to surface surgeries.

The seal for the application area is usually maintained for 1-3 hours, and the effect lasts for at least 1 hour after removing the sealing tape. - For injection needle insertion: apply about 2g for a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 5 hours. - For superficial surgical procedures: apply 1.5-2g/10㎠ for 1 hour. - For major superficial surgical procedures: apply 1.5-2g/10㎠ for a minimum of 2 hours.

This medication is used as a local anesthetic and may cause a rare blood disorder called methemoglobinemia. Patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, congenital methemoglobinemia, heart or lung diseases, infants under 6 months of age, and those exposed to oxidants are more susceptible to this condition. While using this medication, symptoms such as bluish skin or abnormal blood coloration should be closely monitored, and if symptoms appear, immediate treatment is required. It should not be used in patients with an allergy to this drug, open wounds, inflammation of the skin, infants under 3 months of age, and infants under 12 months receiving specific medications. Patients with anemia or liver disease, elderly individuals, frail patients, and those allergic to any component of this medication should use it cautiously. Local reactions such as pallor, redness, swelling, itching, and initial burning sensations may occur during use, and in rare cases, serious allergic reactions such as urticaria or difficulty breathing may also occur. Additionally, this medication can cause irritation if it comes into contact with the eyes or ears, so it should not be used around the eyes or in the ear. The risk of methemoglobinemia may increase when used with other specific medications, thus caution is required when combining drugs. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult with a doctor before use as the medication may cross the placenta or be secreted in breast milk. Due to limited safety data, caution is required when using this medication in children, especially in infants under 3 months of age, and it is advisable not to use it on mucosal surfaces of the genitalia. In cases of overdose, severe neurological symptoms or blood abnormalities may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention, and those showing symptoms must be monitored carefully for several hours.
